Symposium Tote Bag with Symposium Publication by Cai Studio
Description
Designed and produced for the "Archival Thinking: Artist Archive Symposium", this tote bag comes with a copy of the symposium publication. The symposium explored the practice and thinking around artist archives, bringing together speakers from diverse backgrounds to share their experiences and perspectives.
Drawing inspiration from the archival folder commonly used in archival work, the tote is made of heavy canvas in a soft goose-yellow tone, with black silkscreen print. Measuring approximately 12 inches wide by 15 inches high, it features three exterior folder-style zippered compartments that comfortably accommodate A4-sized booklets. The sturdy fabric structure also makes it well suited for carrying books and paper materials.
The accompanying symposium publication, designed by Studio Lin and printed on newsprint, includes messages from the curator and organizers, along with each speaker’s contributions on archives and a selection of archival materials. Together, the tote bag and publication serve as both a practical object and a lasting keepsake of the symposium.
