About the Zine

Restless Room is a communication tool inspired by my own experiences and research. It rethinks childhood spaces as a way to start important conversations about mental health. Inspired by my own experiences and research, this project reimagines childhood spaces to foster conversations about mental health. Through storytelling and interactive 3D pop-ups, it encourages both children and adults to acknowledge, share, and find comfort in their fears.

About the Author

Nany Chen is a design researcher who graduated from Design for Social Innovation at the School of Visual Arts. She specializes in translating abstract ideas into visual clarity, and a mental health advocate fostering social progress through cross-disciplinary action.
